I was trucking along and then bam, we were all hit with a pandemic. Let me tell you, none of us knew what the hell we were doing. Two years into this and we are still trying to figure out how to navigate through this huge shift.
I was working on big dreams with my Mexico Expat Coaching as well as a retreat scheduled for May 2020 (yeah we know how that turned out).
Many nights, I have thought that I need to get back to blogging about these crazy Mexico adventures. It kept getting put off because in March 2020, I became Luisa from Encanto.
My other passion and primary source of income is as a licensed professional counselor. What people didn’t realize was that therapists were providing support to clients and listening hour after hour while also going through the same shit. We didn’t have the answers anymore than anyone else, only the specialized training to listen and help clients to feel safe. Deep down, we didn’t feel safe either.
Being in survival mode left me no energy for anything else that I have really been wanting to do. I have decided it is time. And I have a lot to say!
In the near future, I will have all these updates and more:
- What was the pandemic like while living in Mexico
- Bringing a Mexican Street Dog (aka pandemic dog) into the mix of everything
- What actually happened on the date my retreat was scheduled to start
- Moving two blocks away because I couldn’t stand looking at the same walls any longer
- Surviving my first tropical storms and hurricanes
- Is “Caribbean”, the infamous Polaris I previously blogged about, still around
- What it’s really like to work as a remote therapist
- Learning to hypnotize myself
- New tattoos, a surgery, and drastic hairstyle change
- Losing 100 pounds
- Interculture relationships
